Susan at Susan Fields e-mailed she'd had Blogger woes and said, ". . . I changed my Comments format to be a pop-up window and it fixed the problem." I immediately did as she suggested and - voila! - the old format returned (without the reply/delete options). I e-mailed to ask if she could drop a comment to see if it really worked now. She did and -voila! - the comment had taken.
Thank you, Susan, for your help. You're a sweetie! When the old format returned (I kinda like what works!) and your comment took, I felt an enormous sigh of relief. Susan's a wife, mom, and YA Fantasy and SciFi writer. For her blog, go here. You won't be sorry you did. Susan's a really, really nice, kind-hearted gal with a super blog.
And please take a sec to take a look at an addition at the top of my sidebar. Rachel Morgan at Rachel Morgan Writes launches her "Creepy Hollow" series on March 5th - there's the gorgeous cover!!! Congrats, Rachel! I know you've got a winner here! (If you're not following Susan and Rachel, tisk, tisk!)
And thank you for your comments. I'm sorry so many of us were/are in Blogger's roughshod path. I honestly don't understand why people sitting in offices somewhere decide to screw with what works. But they do. Hub says it happens in industry all the time. No wonder he likes ESPN. I get it!
And a hearty welcome to new Followers! Thank you for following! I'm looking forward to getting to know you. But a challenging situation definitely slowing me down. When we returned from the Christmas holiday, I tweeted that someone had gotten around security and entered our garage. While hub's been in North Carolina this week, there have been other incidents. The police have been fantastic.
Security upgrades are in progress (and expensive, yipes!) that start kicking in tomorrow. Simply put, I want to catch who's doing this. (Why does this stuff happen? I'm just in my house, minding my own business.)
So, I'm sorry about not posting today about Great Aunt Edna (we called her such; she was proud of her years) but with the security issues, my mind's on the here and now, not yesterday - need to get my pea brain in gear as I hope you love Great Aunt Edna as much as I did/do.
Thank you, thank you for your patience! Hugs! xo

I wanted the threaded reply option in my comments, so I changed the setting, but then no one could comment. Changed it back, and everything's fine.
Silly blogger.
Thank you so much for the link to my blog and for posting my book cover! So sweet of you :-)
Hope the security upgrades are going well, and I'm looking forward to hearing about Great Aunt Edna :-)
Ditto: after reading about "how great" the new embedded set-up was because of it allowing directed replies after each comment, I decided to give it a shot. But not for long. It wouldn't allow ME to comment on my own blog. Back to the pop-up again, and I reckon that's where I'll be staying.
I haven't tried the threaded reply, but I did change to Google Chrome because one day I couldn't access my blog at all, now all back to normal.
what a bummer about the security, hope you can put a stop to it.
Oh yeah, blogger's been a pinhead lately. My other problem was that I couldn't access or upload other blogs. I'd click on the link, and nothing would ever show up! Thankfully, it seems to be fixed now. Whew!
Oh Blogger, please don't turn on us! I hope your security issues are resolved quickly...I'd be a little shaky myself. Be safe!
Stay safe kittie!
Glad blogging issues are better. :)
Things sound stressful for you lately. When it rains it pours. My husband and I just came through a really stressful 6 weeks dealing with some tenants that needed evicting. Fortunately we had a fantastic lawyer. Glad the police are on the case for you. Wishing you all the best Kittie! May life settle down and be peaceful for a nice long time!
Hello Kittie glad you have solved the problem of your blog.
have a good weekend.
a hug.
I still am getting blanked out on a couple blogs.Wonder if this new innovation is doing it to them. I still am using what has worked.Sorry to hear someone thinks your stuff shold be theirs.
Are you sticking with the embedded comments? I am so glad I switched to pop up as I haven't had any problems since I did. I'm sorry about the security problems you are having. I hope you take care and will be safe.
I see now what you have: a popup window to leave a comment in and then it looks like it's embedded. Great! I just didn't realize it at first. Take care.
So far mine has remained on the old format, i hope it continues, but will try this in case. Thanks for sharing. Richard from My Old Historic House.
Just wanted to drop by and send you a HELLO and a HUG..
Betty Ann
WEll, I hope your blog is fixed...I've been having problems as well and just didn't know if it was the site or what. I hope whatever it is, it will mind its manners.
Dear, take good care; security is nothing to mess around with...I so agree with you; why not just let people alone who mind their own business...ugh!
Kitty you are so lovely and kind and I'm thrilled to know you.

Hi Kittie. That sounds disturbing, I hope they catch whoever has been entering your garage. Stay safe! And I'm looking forward to reading more about Great Aunt Edna when you have time to write about her. :)

Well, that just stinks. I hope those upgrades do the trick, dear friend.
I had not been blogging much lately but read about blogger woes at quite a number of blogs.
My house was broken at a few nights ago. It was a scary experience.
Blogger is working well for me right now, so I'm knocking on wood...
Hi Kittie. Glad your issues are fixed. I hate that feeling in the pit of one's stomach when things aren't going well.
I'm also way behind in reading and commenting, but life will be back to normal soon enough. I leave for BC in a week with mixed feelings. It'll be nice to get back to work, but boy oh boy am I going to miss my little man. Ah, the life of a travelling writer.
I'll have to switch over my settings. A couple of people have said they're having issues getting into my blogs at the moment, part of the bigger problem with blogger right now, and I know I'm having the same sort of issue with several of the blogs I follow.
I am so seriously having these problems. I can't reply to some blogs, I can to others - fortunately it seems I can to yours. Thanks for stopping by Kittie
I hear you on the blogger issues. I couldn't get into my account last week because of unusual activity on it. Google locked me out and no one could comment on my blog, nor could they connect to it through my profile. I eventually got the problem fix, but it was annoying. I have no idea why anyone would want to hack my blog. What? Did they think they could do a better job writing the posts. lol
